A total of 73 exporters from Bangladesh have been named for the ‘National Export Trophy’ for the fiscal year 2020-21 for their exceptional performance towards earning foreign currencies.
This is as per reports, which added the Ministry of Commerce has issued a gazette in this direction recently listing the winners, which represent 32 different sectors even as among the recipients, 28 were honoured with the prestigious award in the gold category, 25 in the silver category, and 19 in the bronze category.
The highest accolade, the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Export Trophy was reportedly bestowed upon Rifat Garments Limited, which is a subsidiary of Ha-Meem Group even as several prominent companies were recognised in the gold category, including Snowtex Outerwear Ltd., Flamingo Fashions Ltd., Badsha Textiles Ltd., Ha-Meem Denim Ltd., Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Limited, Noman Terry Towel Mills Ltd., apart from International Jute Traders, Akij Jute Mills Ltd.,, Picard Bangladesh Limited, and Bay Footwear Ltd.
Other notable companies in the gold category include Universal Jeans, Padma Spinning & Composite, Montrims, Pioneer Knitwears (BD), Indigo Corporation, Pran Dairy, Rajdhani Enterprise, Karupannya Rangpur, Durable Plastic, Bengal Plastics (Unit 3), Shinepukur Ceramics, Meghna Bangladesh, Energypac Engineering, Marine Safety System, Beximco Pharmaceuticals, ServicEngine, NR Trade International and Mir Telecom.
In the silver category, companies such as AKM Knit Wear Ltd., GMS Composite Knitting Ind Ltd., Square Textiles Ltd., (oven), Envoy Textiles Ltd., (textile fabrics), Momtex Expo Ltd., (home and specialized textiles), Sartaj Trade International (raw jute), Janata Jute Mills (jute), ABC Footwear Ind Ltd., and Shoeniverse Footwear Ltd., (leather goods) were among the winners.
The bronze category honorees include Tarasima Apparels and Liberty Knitwear Ltd., NZ Textile Ltd., Akij Textile Mills Ltd., (textile fabrics), Jobaida Karim Spinners Ltd., (jute), Alliance Leather Goods & Footwear Ltd., (leather goods), Heritage Enterprise (agricultural products, excluding tobacco), Alin Food Products Ltd., (agro-processing, except tobacco), and Classical Handmade Products BD (handicraft).
