
Tipu Munshi, the Commerce Minister of Bangladesh, has underlined the Government is planning to introduce a central bonded warehouse facility for the leather sector of the country so as to facilitate the medium-level and small leather goods manufacturers.
As per reports, he came up with the observation while inaugurating the three-day Leathertech Bangladesh 2022 at the International Convention City Bashundhara in capital city Dhaka recently.
Speaking at the occasion, Tipu Munshi reportedly maintained the Commerce Ministry is drawing up a 10-year perspective plan, which includes a target to increase the leather sector’s export earnings to US $ 10- US $ 12 billion by 2030 even as he called upon financial institutions to provide fiscal support to small manufacturers to achieve the milestone of export for the sector.
Ensuring proper facilities for the sector will make a remarkable contribution to the country’s export diversification basket, he further reportedly added.
