
After suffering majorly on account of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the Keraniganj wholesale apparel hub of Bangladesh is back to business as usual.
Media reports maintained this adding almost 60 per cent to 70 per cent of apparels made for Eid-ul-Fitr have already been sold out, while remaining 30 per cent to 40 per cent of the clothes are expected to be sold as well by the 20th day of Ramadan.
This the reports claimed citing the traders, who are, reportedly, hopeful they might make some profit after all this year having faced the worst of COVID-19 fallouts in last couple of years.
“…demand this year has been very good. Customers are coming, but they are not getting enough supplies,” reportedly, claimed General Secretary of the Keraniganj Garments Traders’ and Shop Owners’ Cooperative Association Muslim Dhali even if traders have, reportedly, said they could not produce sufficient apparels in line with this year’s Eid demand as they had been constrained by lack of monetary support from the bank besides having to deal with increasing raw material prices.
