The official body of apparel exporters in India, AEPC has claimed that its visit to Iran was eventful and business oriented. In an email reply to Apparel Resources, AEPC said that its delegation met several dignitaries on a two-day visit to Iran’s capital, Tehran and the nature of the visit was conservative. The delegation featured only five-member team, including the chairman of the association.
This declaration by AEPC defies the earlier reports, which claimed that the delegation comprised eight members.

While touring Iran, the delegation met Indian ambassador, Saurabh Kumar, who briefed them about the existing trade and economic scenario post- sanctions. They also met Golnaz Nasrollahi, General Director of Textile & Clothing, Ministry of Industries, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who expressed his desire to work with India.
In addition, the delegates met Abdolhamid Feizi, Chairman of the Board and Bahram Hariri, Secretary and Spokesman of Iran Textile Export Association, Dr. Mohammad Reza Bakhtiari, Deputy. for International Affairs, other members of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture (TCCIM) and VC of Tehran Textile Union, which comprises over 200 member retailers operating in Iran.
