
As many as six people were injured in a clash between two factions of labourers at Bangladesh’s largest land port, Benapole Land Port recently.
Media reports maintained this while adding two groups of labourers on 28 March engaged in violent clashes over allegedly establishing supremacy at the Benapole Port, thanks to which export-import activities to and from India remained suspended for 3 hours.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Officer-in-Charge of Benapole Port police station, Kamal Hossain Bhuiyan, stated, “The clash erupted over establishing supremacy at the port… At least 32 crude bombs were used by the two sides during the clash that lasted for hours,” while adding business operations at the port resumed after the incident.
