
Except for one, the work of which is expected to end at stipulated time frame, five other projects out of the total six projects, as implemented by the Bangladesh Land Port Authority to ease overland trade with India, will not end on due time.
Media reports maintained this citing the relevant officials in this regard.
Given the rate of progress rate of these projects — the list of those six projects, running under land port authority, includes development of Dhanua-Kamalpur land port in Jamalpur, Gubrakura-Karaitali land port in Mymensingh, Balla land port in Habiganj and Bilonia land port in Feni. And, the last project is construction of Benapole cargo terminal — only one of will be completed within the stipulated time, reportedly, said people in know of things adding rest of the projects will not get completed within the deadline, keeping which in mind the land port authority has taken initiative to extend the time limit for the other projects by one year.
It may be mentioned here India is emerging as a very interesting non-conventional market for Bangladesh lately, especially for ‘Made in Bangladesh’ which are in very high demand in India.
