Twinset, a luxury Italian fashion brand, has chosen to use the TrusTrace platform to find suppliers, encourage eco-design projects, and ultimately assess the environmental effect of each of its goods.
Results will be obtained gradually by scaling up over the course of the three-year roadmap, after which the entire spectrum of product categories and suppliers for the brand will be traced. The primary goals are to determine the country of origin of the materials, control supply-chain risks like forced labour, and facilitate eco-design by evaluating each product’s environmental impact.
Peftrust, a top provider of life cycle assessments (LCAs), has teamed up with TrusTrace to promote the environmental impact program.
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which mandates that businesses report on their environmental and social impact, and Digital Product Passports (DDPs), which will be required for textiles sold in Europe by 2030, are two new regulations that this is assisting Milan-based Twinset in getting ready for.
“Through our partnership with TrusTrace, Twinset has strengthened its dedication to tracking its supply chain in fine detail,” says Shameek Ghosh, co-founder and CEO of TrusTrace. “The brand can now track the environmental impact of each product and better understand where and how its clothing is produced—all within one platform.”
