Renowned leading luxury apparel label Stella McCartney became the most recent fashion label to join hands with Fashion for Good, a global drive to innovate ideas that can take the industry towards a circular model.
Notably, a collection from this collaboration is all set to be on display in October at the Fashion for Good Experience. Having Stella McCartney on board on its network, Fashion for Good now has a committed corporate partner and inspiring leader in the clothing industry. Both the partners were in talks for several months but now they have officially inked a partnership. The collaboration came naturally since both the organisations’ focus is on inspiring the innovation and circular fashion principles.
Stella McCartney elucidated on the development and cited, “Our brand has been continuously seeking innovative ways to become more sustainable, joining Fashion for Good helps the brand in its path towards attaining a sustainable future.” She added, “Together we can spark and reach the next generation of circular technologies and help to transform the fashion industry.” Furthermore, a dress curated by Stella McCartney will be showcased at the Fashion for Good museum in Amsterdam (Netherlands) next month. The Dutch-based organisation also claims the museum to be the first in the world to be entirely dedicated to sustainable fashion innovations.
A dress created by the British designer is made up of organic cotton which is dyed with Colorfix, a colouring material created using engineered microorganisms. Colorfix is a startup from batch 2 of the organisation’s Plug and Play Accelerator programme.
