PVH Corp., one of the largest apparel companies in the world, has expanded its engagement with the United Nations by signing onto the UN Global Compact to recognize business’ ability to lead the change on the global sustainable development agenda with a focus on apparel industry.
Launched in the year 2000, the United Nations Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible corporate practices, with more than 9,000 companies’ signatories.
In another development, PVH-owned apparel brand Tommy Hilfiger has signed the CEO Water Mandate to reaffirm its commitment to responsible water usage and stewardship and to improve access to clean water and sanitation. Following Tommy Hilfiger’s pioneering work on water through its multi-year partnership with WWF International, PVH will also work in alignment with the CEO Water Mandate to drive progress on its goal to safeguard and preserve water resources.
It may be noted that earlier this year, PVH signed the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles to reinforce its commitment to gender equality in the workplace.
