Soorty Group – a leading denim garment and textile manufacturing group of Pakistan – has conducted its first session to spread awareness about breast cancer amongst its women workforce.
The session was conducted in Soorty Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.’s unit 2/3 in association with Pink Pakistan that’s a non-profit and non-Government organisation established with a vision to work for the welfare and well-being of the women of Pakistan.
Recently, Soorty Group utilised its social media platforms to talk about the breast cancer and shared that around 40,000 women die from breast cancer every year, a number far greater than the number of Pakistanis who have died of COVID-19 since the pandemic started!
“Regular self-examination along with yearly mammography (for women above 40) is a must for early detection,” mentioned Soorty Group, emphasising on the need for dispelling the fog around breast cancer and guiding women across the Group’s companies about self-examination.
Dr. Zubaiada Qazi of Pink Pakistan took the baton in her hand in the awareness session, encouraged women of Soorty Group to ask questions about the disease, and answered their queries.
