Nuearth’s ‘Fashioning The Future initiative’, in collaboration with luxury brand Chopard, seeks to assist the fashion sector in reducing its carbon footprint by employing hydro and geothermal-powered data storage facilities in Iceland. By utilising ultra-low carbon footprint Data Centers at the Borealis Data Center in Iceland, Nuearth offers clients the advantage of zero power costs.
Through partnerships with Icelandic firm Responsible Compute, Nuearth delivers nearly carbon-free storage solutions to clients in the UK and Europe, aiding fashion companies in offsetting their carbon emissions with sustainable servers powered by hydro and geothermal energy. Co-founder Robbie Furze highlighted their dedication to utilising energy-efficient infrastructure with a zero-carbon footprint, focusing on the fashion industry initially but applicable to all sectors requiring data storage.
Chopard’s co-president and artistic director, Caroline Scheufele, underlined the importance of sustainable practices in the fashion industry. Nuearth aims to raise industry standards by fostering environmental consciousness and sustainability.
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a global environmental disclosure nonprofit, recently commended key players in the fashion industry such as Kering, Lenzing, and Inditex for their data disclosures following assessments on climate change, deforestation, and water security criteria.
