Many students of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) have in the past got recognition for their innovation in various fields.
Here’s one more!
Pratyaksha Majhe, a student at NIFT Bhopal, has designed moveable toilets – there couldn’t have been any bigger support for critical and weak patients, especially in these tough times.
The toilets are equipped with an 80-litre water tank and a 100-litre bottom tank for wastage that needs to be cleaned after 5-6 times of usage. This is in addition to having a western toilet seat for the convenience of the users.
The toilet is covered from all four sides and nearly Rs. 25,000 has been spent to develop it.
“I have designed this movable toilet for patients who are on oxygen support as it can be kept in the ward. It is easy to use and of the same size as a wheelchair,” says Pratyaksha.
She decided to develop the moving toilet after her uncle was admitted to a hospital for COVID treatment, and where he faced difficulty in using the toilet frequently, as it was located at some distance.
Pratyaksha now plans to donate her product to the hospitals.
