The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has asked 350 pieces of children’s robes to be recalled due to violation of federal flammability standards and burn hazards.
These products were manufactured in China and imported by Betusline Official Apparel, China, sold exclusively on Amazon.com.
Endowed with the responsibility of protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury or death associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products, CPSC is continuously issuing such recall notices.
There are several examples of apparel recall which were recently made in China. Just last month, more than 10,000 sleepwear garments were recalled as they failed to meet federal flammability standards. These were also made by Suzhou Rongtai Home Textile Co. Ltd., of China and sold exclusively on Amazon.com.
As per the CPSC, the recalled robes fail to meet flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.
CPSC said, “Consumers should immediately take the recalled robes away from children, stop using and destroy them by cutting them in half.”
The long-sleeved robes are made of 100 per cent polyester and were sold in sizes 12 months to 18 months.
