
Austria-based fiber specialist Lenzing Group recently introduced a fiber brand named VEOCEL. The newly launched sustainable brand is said to provide certified and biodegradable fibers to the nonwoven industry.
According to Lenzing, the offerings under the VEOCEL brand include a vast range of applications such as baby care; beauty and body care; surface cleaning as well as intimate care.
With the launch of VEOCEL, Lenzing has transformed its working model from Business-to-Business (B2B) fiber producer to Business-to-Business-to-Consumer (B2B2C) brand. Further, Lenzing is also migrating from fiber to product applications as part of its efforts towards providing sustainability in textiles as well as it is determined to build emotional connection with its customers.

VEOCEL fiber portfolio includes Specialty Viscose fibers and Lyocell fibers which are claimed to be derived from renewable wood sources from certified forests. The fibers have botanic properties which help improve moisture management and its absorbing capacity. The properties also contribute to better breathability.
“Moreover, the fibers are biodegradable in landfill, soli seawater and compost. We have manufactured these fibers in a stringent production process using our environment and safety standards,” claims Lenzing.
Markedly, Lyocell Fiber are incorporated with ‘Quat’ (quaternary ammonium compounds) Release technology which makes it suitable for hard surface cleaning and disinfectant wet wipes. The technology allows the compounds to release from wet wipes onto the surface for an effective cleaning and disinfecting in household and industrial environments.
