
Bangladesh’s Ananta Garments & Sportswear Ltd., which is one of the largest apparel exporters from the country, has recently received Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED V4.1) for existing building design by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), thereby making it the latest from Bangladesh to get the green tag.
With this, the total number of LEED-certified factories in Bangladesh now stands at 188.
According to the USGBC, Ananta Garments & Sportswear Ltd. scored 89 points to get the LEED Platinum Certification on 10 February.
Ananta Garments & Sportswear Ltd’s 89 points (Platinum) in the LEED 4.1 category, is reportedly the highest in Bangladesh.
The Chairman of Ananta Companies Aminul Haq Khan — established in Bangladesh in 1992 Ananta is a group of companies involved in the business of manufacturing and exporting apparels and leather items to the western markets — Managing Director Inamul Haq Khan, and the Deputy Managing Director M Sajedul Karim received the certificate at its corporate office in Dhaka.
