By signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to begin the Regenagri Cotton Project, Indo Count Industries Limited, a corporate leader in the production of home textiles, and Shreeram Cotton Industries, a premier ginning unit and ICS based in Gujarat known for producing premium Sankar-6 cotton, have made a significant advancement in sustainable agriculture.
Through this partnership, two businesses dedicated to revolutionising farming methods with an emphasis on resilience and sustainability will work together. By empowering farmers with the skills and resources necessary to prosper in a changing agricultural environment, the Regenagri project seeks to empower farmers and ensure that farming systems coexist peacefully with the environment while being commercially viable.
Regenagri, short for Regenerative Agriculture, refers to comprehensive farming practices intended to augment biodiversity within ecosystems, strengthen soil health, and elevate air and water quality. Through the combination of knowledge and resources from both Indo Count Industries and Shreeram Cotton Industries, the project hopes to improve the agriculture industry as a whole and promote environmental sustainability and community well-being.
“We are thrilled to announce this partnership by signing the MOU,” said K K Lalpuria, CEO & Executive Director of Indo Count Industries Limited. “Regenagri underscores our shared commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture practices that benefit both farmers and the environment.”
Natubhai Panchani, Partner of Shreeram Cotton Industries, added, “We believe that by working together, we can achieve significant progress towards building a more sustainable future for agriculture. The Regenagri project will leverage the strengths of both organisations to develop scalable solutions that can be implemented across diverse agricultural regions.”
