Ethisphere Institute, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, has tagged fashion retailers like H&M, Marks and Spencer and Levi’s as ‘ethical’ firms. Other fashion companies that made it to the list in previous years include names like GAP, Patagonia, Timberland, Adidas, New Balance and Nike.
While Marks and Spencer has been recognised by the Ethisphere as one of the world’s most ethical companies eight times, H&M has been honoured six times, and Levi’s made the cut three times.
Glad on gaining the recognition all over again, Anna Gedda, Head of Sustainability – H&M said, “We are very proud that H&M is named as one of the world’s most ethical companies. Being an honouree for the sixth time recognises our commitment to set ethical standards and practices in the fashion industry. We will continue our efforts to lead the fashion industry towards a more sustainable future where ethical and sustainable standards is a prerequisite for success.”

Ethisphere acknowledges companies that shine in three particular zones – firstly, promoting ethical business standards and practices internally; secondly, enabling managers and employees to make good choices; and thirdly shaping future industry standards by introducing tomorrow’s best practices for ethical functioning.
