At least 26 child labourers, all from Motihari District in Bihar (India) have been rescued in a joint raid by police and an NGO from a jeans making factory in the national capital, New Delhi. All the children are in the age group of 8 to 13 and were brought to New Delhi around six months back.
The victims were found confined in a room and subject to vicious torture by their employer. They used to work for 22 hours in a single stretch without getting proper food. Hammers and cutters were reportedly used to beat them by their employer. Few of them were found with severe injury marks on their bodies.
