Chico’s FAS Inc., a leading omnichannel speciality retailer, has been honoured with Women Executive Leadership Florida’s (WEL Florida) 2017 Corporate Salute Elevate Award.
Chico’s FAS was the only apparel company amongst the 32 companies that were honoured with this award.
The company received this award as it has a majority of women in its Boardroom. 80 per cent of its executives are women.
The brand retails women’s casual-to-dressy clothing, intimates and complementary accessories. It currently operates 1,482 stores in the US and Canada and sells merchandise through franchise locations in Mexico as well.
Shelley Broader, President, and CEO, Chico’s FAS said, “We currently operates three brands including Chico’s, White House Black Market and Soma that serves women and thus we recognise the importance of women in playing leadership roles at the board and executive levels.”
The WEL Florida 2017 Corporate Award event was held at the T Pepin Hospitality Centre in Tampa last week.
WEL Florida is a non-profit organisation that advocates, educates and connects accomplished women executives in the corporate world.
The organisation distinguishes the awardee companies on the basis of the WEL Census that reviews the Securities and Exchange Commission filings including the financial reports and proxy statements of the companies.
WEL Florida then identifies the number of women on boards and in key executive positions through this analytical process.
