In order to aide factories, trading companies, brands and retailers deliver compliant wearable technology in the coming Christmas season; Bureau Veritas has launched a specialized testing solution. Bureau Veritas’ holistic approach enables the Wearable Technology market to validate that their wearable devices or applications are ready for the market and surpass market needs from compliance, performance and security angles. The testing is a three step process – Comply, Perform and Secure & Safe. Under the first step “Comply”, apparels with wearable technology are assessed on Wireless Testing (Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC) and Qualification, Chemical Testing including Allergens/Nickel Release, EMC Testing, Safety Testing and Wireless Charging Testing (QI Certification). Following this, the garment is tested on Reliability/Ingress Protection Testing, Consumer Panel Evaluation, Comparison Testing, Battery Life Testing and Antenna Performance Testing while the final step (Secure & Safe) tests the interoperability testing across multiple platforms. Chris Baird, Director-Global Marketing, Bureau Veritas’ Consumer Products Services Division said, “The increasingly ubiquitous nature of wireless wearable solutions brings a whole host of opportunities and challenges in terms of performance, compliance and data security. Our unique approach embracing best in class services such as wireless and chemical testing, app testing and consumer panel evaluations, all available worldwide, helps support this exciting market place in overcoming these challenges.”
