Leaders of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) on Wednesday urged the government to ensure an adequate supply of gas to industrial units so apparel makers can fully utilise their production capacity.
The call came during a meeting with Mohammad Saiful Islam, secretary of the Energy Division, at his secretariat office in Dhaka.
BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan led the delegation at the meeting, and, according to a BGMEA statement, he urged the government to prioritise garment factories when granting new gas connections.
