
Keeping in perspective the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the Industrial Police in the port city of Chittagong and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) have decided to work together to facilitate disbursement of salaries and bonuses and arrears of industrial workers and help factories to solve any possible problems to this end.
This is as per reports, which added a meeting was held recently to this end between the BGMEA First Vice President Syed Nazrul Islam, BKMEA Director Gazi Md Shahidullah, Bepza CEPZ KEPZ, Directorate of Inspection of Factories and Institutions, representatives of various industries and trade union leaders and Industrial Zone Police Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sulaiman, at the BGMEA building conference room under the initiative of Industrial Police-3 of Chittagong.
At the view exchange meeting, the factory owners reportedly expressed hopes that the salary-bonus and other dues of the industrial workers will be paid within 20th April.
