The President of the BGMEA, which is the apex garment makers body in Bangladesh, has written to France Ambassador in Dhaka Jean-Marin SCHUH and Bangladesh Ambassador to France Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, seeking their steps to remove certain ‘derogatory’ comments made about ‘Made in Bangladesh’ from the French movie The Last Mercenary.
Media reports maintained this while adding that in a recent letter addressed to the French envoy, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, reportedly, underlined that the garment makers’ body, on behalf of the whole apparel fraternity, ‘further press a more vehement protest’ through the French envoy and expressed hope that the same shall be communicated to the concerned French authority, so as to remove the statement immediately, even as he went on to, reportedly, underline further that previously BGMEA had addressed this concern to the Netflix CEO and the director of the movie as well.
… but to our extreme disappointment, we have not received any response from them, reportedly, added the BGMEA President.
