Leading retail and lifestyle conglomerate Apparel Group has unveiled fresh efforts to speed up its environmental mission. The group has been actively involved in aiding its local communities through philanthropy and social action. Since 2010, the group has focused more on the environment, realising how urgent it is to do something to improve the state of the climate.
Apparel Group recently made a commitment to the UAE government to reach net zero by 2050. Additionally, they joined the UACA alliance to benefit from best practises and peer expertise. A thorough carbon accounting of the company’s operations, which will set a baseline and submit targets to SBTi, is the company’s objective.
To reduce its carbon footprint and create a Net-Zero journey to battle climate change, the corporation is collaborating with top sustainability consultants.
The organisation will be able to plan its Net-Zero path and implement the appropriate reduction strategies thanks to the Carbon Accounting exercise. The business is still working on numerous projects to improve its energy efficiency, address the water problem, and adopt circular economy principles in the interim.
Neeraj Teckchandani, CEO of Apparel Group said, “We are committed to ensuring that our operations align with our values and contribute to a better future for all. Our focus on sustainability will enable us to reduce our carbon footprint and design a Net-Zero journey. We are excited about this new chapter in our company’s history and look forward to sharing our progress.
