
Various brands and retailers have come forward to support Kerala, which has suffered massive destruction due to recent floods. H&M Foundation has announced to donate US $ 1 lakh to ‘Save the Children’ NGO in support of the flood ravaged state.
With this donation, Save the Children will focus on both immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation, with the initial goal of rebuilding lives of 8,000 affected families. The NGO will also help re-build schools so that children education do not suffer.
“We are responding to the humanitarian crisis in Kerala with restorative and rehabilitating efforts, reaching children in the most cut-off locations. Ensuring a zero lag in children’s access to education is our utmost priority. We deeply appreciate the donation from H&M Foundation which helps us make this possible”, says Bidisha Pillai, CEO, Save the Children, India.
On the other hand, Decathlon is motivating ts customers in India to donate to the state. Brands’ stores in Bangalore, Chennai, Mysore, Coimbatore, and Madurai are serving as a collection center for relief materials like cloth, rain and warm wear, food, and sanitation products. People are not only coming forward to donate but also appreciating the brand for the move.
Reliance Foundation has also announced to donates Rs 21 crore to the CM relief fund. Nita Ambani, Chairperson, Reliance Foundation also visited Pallipad village which is badly affected areas in the floods. The bulk of the relief material will be supplied by Reliance Retail.
