More worries for the UK as COVID-19 just doesn’t seem to leave the nation!
Just a few weeks after England came out of lockdown, now Wales will enter into another complete lockdown after Christmas.
The Welsh Government has announced that Wales will be going into lockdown from 28 December (Monday).
Meanwhile, all non-essential stores – including apparels and footwear – will be closed from Christmas Eve itself.
Though it is not confirmed how long non-essential stores will remain closed, Wales’ first minister Mark Drakeford said that that situation is serious in the country with 1 in 5 people testing positive for the coronavirus.
The Government also announced that all hospitality premises will close down from 6 PM on 25 December.
There are also plans to start a four-level alert system in Wales so as to tighten the restrictions especially on staying indoors and also travelling.
This is the third time Wales will be entering lockdown. Its previous ‘firebreak’ lockdown lasted 17 days – ending in early November.
We will keep you updated!
