By the fiscal year 2028, the footwear company VKC Group intends to reach 2,000 franchise brick-and-mortar locations throughout India. The Kerala-based company also intends to add a few clothing items and accessories to its lineup in addition to shoes.
Initially, the company is concentrating on expanding in South India, followed by Maharashtra, and is also in talks to venture into other states, according to the managing director, VKC Razak.
In addition to footwear, VKC Group intends to broaden its product line to include walking-appropriate clothing, such as T-shirts and pants, and accessories, such as wallets, socks and belts, which it will purchase from other producers for its own line.
In order to expand its product line and meet the growing demand from customers for environmentally friendly goods, the company plans to introduce a sustainable product line online.
VKC Razak stated that the company aims to cater to customers who prioritise recyclability and eco-friendliness by introducing sustainable products on e-commerce platforms. He noted that these customers are often willing to pay a premium for options with maximum recyclable components. However, he also mentioned that making such products widely accessible may not be feasible due to the higher costs of raw materials and production.
