While addressing what appears to be a hack, the lingerie business Victoria’s Secret has suspended online orders. According to the corporation, its physical shopfronts are still open.
A representative for Victoria’s Secret stated that it has engaged outside specialists to address the issue, but they would not comment on the precise nature of the cybersecurity problem or the estimated time of resolution. Although the culprits are not identified, the event occurred two weeks after Google issued a warning that large American brands were being targeted by an effective cybercriminal outfit that has seriously hindered British retail companies.
That campaign seems to have affected at least three British retailers: Harrod’s, which seems to have experienced only minor disruptions; the Co-op Group, which experienced a significant consumer data leak; and Marks & Spencer, which ceased accepting online orders for weeks.
