For the first quarter ended 30th April 2025, URBN reported a 10.7 per cent increase in sales to a record US $ 1.33 billion.
Due to mid-single-digit growth in both in-store and online sales, the owners of Anthropologie, Free People, and Urban Outfitters experienced a 6.4 per cent gain in total retail segment sales over the course of the three months.
Comparable retail segment sales increased by brand at Urban Outfitters by 2.1 per cent, Free People by 3.1 per cent, and Anthropologie by 6.9 per cent.
Due to ‘stronger demand’ from department stores and speciality shops, Free People’s wholesale business grew by 25.6 per cent, contributing to a 24.2 per cent increase in sales in the wholesale category.
In addition, the US-based company opened 13 new stores during the quarter, including two Anthropologie stores, two Urban Outfitters stores, and nine Free People stores. The closing of two Free People outlets counterbalanced this.
