Japanese fashion giant Uniqlo has joined forces with Engineered Garments (EG) for a unique Fall/Winter 2023 collection, blending Uniqlo’s signature style with EG’s craftsmanship and technological details. This exclusive collaboration will be available for purchase both online at Uniqlo’s website and in physical stores from 10th November 2023.
The collection features garments such as a fishtail parka, field jacket, and bomber, enhanced with Uniqlo’s proprietary Pufftech and Heattech technologies. These are integrated into the collection’s onion-quilted lining, ensuring proper insulation for wearers.
EG, founded by Daiki Suzuki, a Japanese-born American fashion designer, maintains its focus on texture and fabric quality in this collection. For example, the EG x Uniqlo F/W 23 bomber boasts a fuzzy wool blend, while the field jacket is constructed from rugged cotton, providing hints of the cotton sateen found in EG’s mainline collections.
This collaboration with EG adds to Uniqlo’s recent partnerships, including collections with longtime collaborator JW Anderson and a special line with White Mountaineering. These collaborations complement the brand’s ongoing seasonal capsules, under the guidance of Uniqlo U’s designer Christophe Lemaire.
Uniqlo took on to its social media and expressed excitement over the new collaboration stating, “A proposition for the new section ‘LifeWear,’ combining ideas and ethos from Engineered Garments, known for reinterpreting classic American design into a universal representation of modern menswear, joins forces with Uniqlo’s commitment to innovation and high-quality clothing.”
EG, renowned for its tech-infused collaborations with high-end brands like DSPTCH, Gloverall, and Reebok, continues to elevate these partnerships with its technological expertise.
