
John Lewis, the reputed clothing retailer from the UK, has announced to donate £100,000 to the British Red Cross to help the affected people of Ukraine.
The fashion retail Group has also pledged to match donations up to £150,000 from customers and staff.
While confirming the donation, Sharon White, Chairman, John Lewis Partnership, said that £100,000 donation will help provide food, water, medicine, warm clothing and shelter to those people of Ukraine who have been affected by the Russian invasion.
Ever the since the tension escalated between both the countries, several retailers, including British footwear and accessories retailer Kurt Geiger have offered to support Ukraine.
John Lewis is yet another British fashion retailer that has now come forward to directly support British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
Besides, several other fashion retailers, including the likes of Asos, Nike, H&M and Nanushka, have, announced to halt their operations in Russia.
John Lewis Partnership is the largest employee-owned business in the UK and is amongst the largest in the world, with more than 80,000 employees who are all partners in the business.
