Terry Boyle has been named chief executive officer of the recommerce company Trove, with effect from 17th June. Boyle takes over as CEO from Gayle Tait, who has chosen to retire. Tait is going to stay on the board of directors of the business.
Boyle possesses a wealth of retail customer experience. He has served as the CEO of multiple consumer retail companies, such as Trunk Club, HauteLook, and Nordstromrack.com. Boyle’s most recent position was CEO of Zulily, where he implemented new growth strategies and increased contribution and EBITDA margins through a number of targeted initiatives.
Before founding Zulily, he served as CEO and co-founder of Behold, a company that gave users a real-time, stylist-driven shopping experience via artificial intelligence.
Andy Ruben, Trove founder and chairman said, “Terry’s extensive retail industry experience, combined with his approach to transforming retail for a more sustainable future, positions him as the perfect leader to drive the company forward. His focus on the continued commercialization of Trove’s critical software will help brands grow without increasing their carbon footprint.”
Nearly two-thirds of all traffic to branded resale sites in the United States comes from Trove. With the recent introduction of resale programmes for Filson (Filson Unfailing), Cotopaxi (Cotopaxi Mas Vida), Brooks (Brooks ReStart), and Canada Goose (Canada Goose Generations), the company is still growing through new enterprise collaborations.
In addition, the reselling company is growing its current alliances with companies including Arc’teryx, Lululemon, and Patagonia.
“Joining Trove at this moment gives me the immense opportunity to support our partners in achieving their sustainability goals while simultaneously driving business growth,” said Boyle.
