In order to provide consumers with more options for payments, Timberland, manufacturer and retailer of outdoorwear, has integrated the services of global payments and shopping provider Klarna on its online platform as well as stores.
As and when the retailer opens up its stores, it will be able to take advantage of this service and enhance consumer experience along with gaining exposure to all the users of Klarna’s app.
Shoppers can opt to pay for the merchandise they buy in four equal installments and payments are interest-free.
Klarna reported a 24 per cent increase in spending on footwear for the week ended on 23 May as compared to the same week last year.
This is supposed to be a result of relaxation of social distancing norms, which is stimulating demand for footwear as more and more people step out.
“We’re constantly exploring innovative ways to offer our customers the best possible shopping experience and by this partnership with Klarna, we’re providing flexible payment options to shoppers for the items they want,” said Kate Kibler, Vice President of digital for Timberland North America, in a press release.
