
TechnoSport has marked its debut in Chennai with its first Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO) in the city. With plans to open 12 EBOs throughout Tamil Nadu by the end of this fiscal year, this opening represents a significant turning point in the brand’s aggressive retail push throughout South India.
As part of its deeper Southern India penetration strategy, TechnoSport is optimistic that it will open three EBOs in Chennai alone before the end of this fiscal year. The company also plans to grow into Tier 1+ cities including Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Karur, and Hosur.
TechnoSport’s entire line of high-performance sportswear designed for Indian conditions is available at the store. The line features in-house fabric inventions such as Matpiq, which combines a soft hand feel with a subtle matte texture, Techno Dry, which is known for its quick-drying performance, and Cotflex, which is known for its 4-way stretch and memory function. The sportswear also contains additional technologies like DURACOOL+, TechnoGuard for antimicrobial protection, and UPF 50+ sun protection.
Tamil Nadu will continue to lead TechnoSport’s southern development as it scales its EBO-first retail strategy, with a goal of 50 EBOs nationwide by the end of the year.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-Founder & Managing Director of TechnoSport, noted that Besant Nagar is among Chennai’s most popular areas, known for its high footfall from fitness enthusiasts and trend-conscious consumers. He added that the launch marks a step forward in the brand’s mission to make high-quality, innovative activewear accessible to a wider audience.
Puspen Maity, CEO of TechnoSport, highlighted that with the opening of its 15th exclusive outlet across India, the company is accelerating its South India expansion strategy. He expressed confidence in opening three exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) in Chennai alone before the end of the fiscal year and shared plans to expand further into Tier 1+ cities including Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Karur, and Hosur.
