Vineyard Vines apparel collections for Target, which was launched amidst huge expectations on 18 May 2019, sold out within the first hour of its launch thereby upsetting many of the shoppers.
The collections went on sale early Saturday morning, but within no time the shoppers snapped up all the items.
The customers who missed out immediately took to Twitter to express their displeasure. Most of them said that a big brand like Target should have stocked more collections of clothes.
Taking the criticism in its stride, Target said that such customer reactions were among the most positive feedback the brand had ever received. It added “With any limited edition partnership, we intend to maintain a balance between offering enough inventory so that shoppers can buy what they want while keeping the collections limited.”
The collections from the association of Target and Vineyard Vines are now available on resale markets including eBay and Facebook Marketplaces.
Notably, the products from the Vineyard Vines collection have a 14-day return policy unlike Target, which has a standard policy of returning the products in 90 days.
