In a significant leadership development within India’s fashion retail sector, Sumit Suneja has stepped down from his role as Chief Expansion Officer and Head – International Markets at BESTSELLER India.
Suneja, who has been associated with the company for over 16 years, played a central role in driving its expansion and strengthening its position in key fashion markets. Over his two-decade-long career, he has been instrumental in building scalable retail frameworks across India and Sri Lanka, leading the rollout of more than 400 stores nationwide.
During his tenure, Suneja helped establish BESTSELLER’s multi-brand franchise business and collaborated closely with retail partners, real estate stakeholders, and internal brand teams to enhance the company’s footprint and customer experience. His earlier leadership in business development and franchising laid the groundwork for the company’s sustained growth. Before joining BESTSELLER, he headed operations at Cocoberry, India’s first premium frozen yoghurt brand.
Reflecting on his departure, Suneja expressed gratitude for his long association with the company, noting that the experience had been marked by significant learning and collaboration. He said he was proud of what had been achieved during his tenure and looked forward to observing BESTSELLER India’s continued evolution in the years ahead.
