Skechers is set to move its European Distribution Center (EDC) to a larger, advanced facility in Liège, Belgium, by 2028. This strategic relocation is designed to meet growing consumer demand and support the brand’s expansion across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
The new facility will span 200,000 square meters and enhance operational efficiency by increasing the volume of goods shipped. Currently, the EDC manages distribution for Skechers’ businesses in Europe, including retail stores, e-commerce, third-party retailers, and regional partners.
David Weinberg, Skechers’ Chief Operating Officer, emphasised the importance of this move, citing a 30 per cent sales growth in EMEA during the third quarter of 2024. Weinberg noted that an increase in personnel and infrastructure will be critical since for the near and long-term growth of the company, the region remains key.
The new distribution center will also align with sustainability goals, being designed to meet BREEAM Excellent standards and incorporating renewable energy features. The expansion is expected to create additional job opportunities in the region.
