American footwear and apparel brand Skechers recently announced the appointment of Los Angeles Sparks forward Rickea Jackson as its latest athletic ambassador.
Jackson, a first-round WNBA draft pick, has joined Skechers to promote the brand’s newest addition to its basketball footwear lineup. The new shoe, dubbed ‘SKX Nexus,’ is a low-top court shoe designed for speed, stability, and comfort. It complements Skechers’ current collection, which includes the lightweight SKX Resagrip and the SKX Float for stability and control. Another new style, the SKX Reign, designed for elevation and intense traction, will be available for the 2024-2025 season, according to the Los Angeles-based brand.
Jackson joins Skechers’ roster of athlete ambassadors, which includes NBA players Joel Embiid, Julius Randle, and Terance Mann; footballers Harry Kane, Mohammed Kudus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Anthony Elanga; golfers Matt Fitzpatrick and Brooke Henderson; pickleball pros Tyson McGuffin and Catherine Parenteau; and Major League Baseball players Clayton Kershaw, Chris Taylor, Brendan Donovan, Aaron Nola, and Wade Miley.
In its most recent trading update, Skechers reported another record-breaking second quarter, with sales up 7.2 per cent to US $ 2.16 billion, driven by high single-digit growth across all channels and markets.
