Surat is gearing up for a union of textile invention and entrepreneurial acumen with the upcoming ‘SGCCI Garment Expo 2023,’ orchestrated by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI).
This two-day event, known for its networking prospects, seeks to unify textile entrepreneurs in Surat, pushing garment manufacturing to unprecedented heights.
The inauguration would commence on 28th December by Surat Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, alongside chief guest Uma Reddy, Vice President of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Ramesh Vaghasia (SGCCI President) elucidated the expo’s mission to transform Surat into an emerging garment hub and guide the aspiring individuals entering the industry.
This expo boasts an array of essentials for garment unit setup, featuring machinery, threads, laces, buttons, colour analysis tools, and fashion design insights. Over 40 prominent suppliers will showcase their merchandise, fostering collaboration within the garment and fashion sector.
Bijal Jariwala, SGCCI Group Chairman, emphasised that the ‘Garment Conclave’ will guide entrepreneurs through fashion forecasting, manufacturing, colour coordination, and artificial intelligence integration. A kids’ fashion show adds youthful exuberance.
Furthermore, the expo would also have an interactive session on ‘Artificial Intelligence with Fashion’ on December 28, featuring speakers like Kavita Gondlia and Swati Tiwari (Institute of Design and Technology), promising insights into AI’s transformative impact on the garment and fashion sector.
