Reebok’s latest collection with Japanese fashion brand Mountain Research is a take on Reebok’s DMX Trail Shadow (FZ4542) with a ‘Pure Grey’ execution that is a nod to ivy grey sweatsuits and the classic American east coast university style popularised in Japan in the 1980s.
Sticking to the same tear-down design narrative from the brands’ initial DMX Trail Shadow collaboration early this spring, the FW20 model has some interesting features.
Resembling classic collegiate sweaters, the shoe has a single-colour grey upper, Mountain Research logo at tongue, while iconic slogan ‘civil disobedience anarchists mountaineers saunterer + punks’ reads along heel webbing, iconic crampon-inspired TPU-injected cage wrapping waterbuck vamp, heel and toe cap across upper, customary under-cage vector logo replaced by utilitarian perforations for breathability and rigid (white) rubber outsole solidified by TPU sheer.
The Mountain Research x Reebok DMX Trail Shadow ‘Pure Grey’ has been available for purchase 8 October onwards from Mountain Research before launching globally on 15 October on Reebok’s official e-store, Superkicks and Veg Nonveg.
The collection will retail starting Rs 9999.
