Rangita, an ethnic apparel label from Stellaro Brands, a subsidiary of e-commerce business Snapdeal, has expanded into the offline arena with the opening of two exclusive boutiques, according to CEO Himanshu Chakrawarti.
Rangita caters to ladies aged 20 and up, offering cheap ethnic fashion. The brand has opened its first two outlets in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Chakrawarti commented on the company’s plan to go offline, saying, “Rangita has done incredibly well in the internet market. We are agnostic about offline and wanted to explore this sector.
With this venture, the fashion company hopes to create a strong offline presence and tap into India’s rapidly expanding fashion industry for contemporary yet reasonably priced women’s wear. According to Chakrawarti, the business expects to build ten more outlets in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana within the next six months.
In discussing the company’s aim to expand in the Southern market, he stated, “For the value market in India on a per capita basis, the South is 2-3 times more than the rest of the country.” He also stated that the Southern market for ethnic clothes does not experience a winter slowdown. Without disclosing Rangita’s performance figures, Chakrawarti stated that on two important channels – Amazon and Ajio – Rangita is one of the top 6-7 brands for ethnic apparel.
