
Ralph Lauren recently made Angela Ahrendts their new lead independent director, who will take over this new position after the company’s 2025 annual general meeting of shareholders.
Ahrendts, who was already a part of the company’s board since 2018 and had chaired the finance committee, apart from serving the nominating, sustainability, and governance committee, will succeed Hubert Joly with this new position.
Speaking about Ahrendts’ appointment, Ralph Lauren’s executive chairman and chief creative officer said that the company looks forward to the association with Angela Ahrendts as the new Lead Independent Director. The executive chairman and chief creative office further mentioned about Ahrendts’ consistent offering of invaluable guidance and perspective and that they are excited to benefit from her leadership.
Apart from Ahrendts’ appointment, the company also expressed gratitude for Joly’s role, who had dedicated 16 years to the company’s board and was the lead independent director since 2021. The company talked about Joly being an integral part of the company and the instrumental role he played in supporting the company’s strategy.
With Joly’s departure, the company’s board will have 11 directors and in this regard Patrice Louvet, president & chief executive officer expressed his enthusiasm of having a board, which continually contributes to the company’s strength with their experience.
