OOSC Clothing, a digital skiwear and sportswear brand based in the UK, has received a ‘transformational’ £1.4 million in finance from HSBC UK through UK Export Finance (UKEF) in order to expand its exports. The company, which has locations in Worcestershire and London, focuses in eco-produced, retro-styled swimwear, gym clothing, and ski wear made from recycled plastic bottles, fishing nets, and marine debris.
OOSC, which is almost ten years old, ships to more than 110 nations, including major European wholesalers ASOS, Decathlon, and Zalando, Macy’s in the US, Hudson Bay in Canada, and other locations in Australia and New Zealand. Sales from 49 US states are also included on its regional webpages.
With the backing of this most recent agreement, the company is now striving for additional worldwide expansion, increasing production for its key retail partners and contributing to the acquisition of additional inventory to support the growth. In 2022, Team GB snowboarder and double Olympian Katie Ormerod was named as OOSC’s first brand ambassador. The company went on to produce and design her own line of clothing under her own name.
Nick Marsden, co-founder and Director of OOSC Clothing, said, “We’re seeing customers around the world get excited not only by our retro-styled products, but also by our industry-leading sustainability credentials and the wider impact we’re having on the planet. UKEF has played a critical role in facilitating our international growth, strengthening our presence in existing markets and entering new ones. We simply would not have grown as fast as we have without its support.”
