New Balance has unveiled a new resale programme through which customers can now view and purchase pre-owned goods by the brand online.
Customers can also trade in their “gently worn” New Balance shoes by mail or in-store drop-offs as part of the “Reconsidered” scheme to obtain a coupon that can be applied to their next branded purchase.
“We know the footwear industry has a significant environmental impact, including too many products ending up in a landfill,” stated John Stokes, director of sustainability at New Balance, in a release.
Tech platform Archive has provided support for the experience’s technology, while Tersus Solutions will be in charge of product fulfilment, warehousing, and cleaning.
Customers in the US may now access Reconsidered through a special website, and later this year, eight retail locations nationwide will test out in-store trade-in programmes before adding more.
