A Korean apparel company has licensed the Lockheed Martin brand to sell clothing in Korea. This is part of a larger fashion trend in Korea where seemingly ‘random’ Western brands like CNN or Kodak are licensed by apparel companies.
This was the reault of the Doojin Corporation, which debuted the Lockheed Martin Apparel brand to tap into the gorpcore trend, according to a press release. Doojin operates other brands with similarly intriguing names, including Brown Breath.
Lockheed Martin Apparel produces streetwear. But what sets Lockheed Martin Apparel apart from competitors like the Korean label Mischief is that the former’s clothing is imprinted with the intellectual property and logos of the US-based defence firm.
Lockheed Martin Apparel’s pilot-inspired collections comprise branded beanies, articulated cargo pants, shirts printed with F-35 fighter jets, and windbreakers with detachable sleeves.
Because Lockheed Martin Apparel has been such a success, Doojin announced intentions to expand its distribution to stores like Musinsa. It is also still seeding product to influencers in Korea and the United Kingdom.
