Sustainable kidswear brand Kidbea has appointed Debasish Das to lead its retail expansion strategy as it accelerates its push into offline growth across India, reflecting a broader shift among digital-first children’s apparel brands towards physical retail.
In his new role, Das will oversee Kidbea’s retail operations, with a focus on store expansion and franchise-led growth. His responsibilities include identifying new locations, managing site selection, supporting franchise development and leading new store launches. He will also be tasked with strengthening operational standards across partner-operated formats to ensure a consistent in-store experience as the brand scales its physical presence.
Das brings more than 15 years of experience in organised retail, with a strong track record in franchise expansion and multi-city operations. Prior to joining Kidbea, he held senior leadership roles at FirstCry, Lilliput Kidswear, Tupperware and VIP Industries, where he was involved in large-scale store roll-outs, franchise network development and the management of retail operations across multiple regions.
Kidbea said Das’s experience would support a disciplined approach to offline expansion as the company grows its physical footprint in partnership with franchisees.
The brand is building an omnichannel business model that integrates its direct-to-consumer platform, online marketplaces and physical stores. While digital channels remain central to customer acquisition, Kidbea views offline retail as a critical touchpoint for building trust and visibility, particularly in children’s apparel, where factors such as fabric quality, fit and product feel play a decisive role in purchasing decisions.
