Dolce & Gabbana, the renowned Italian luxury fashion retailer, has said that it is going fur free.
In its continual commitment to sustainability, the fashion house has decided to go fur free and Angora free with In Defense of Animals (IDA).
IDA, which is an international animal protection organisation, commemorated the retailer’s move after 9,000 people signed an alert urging the company to go fur free.
Notably, IDA has been campaigning to end the fur trade since the 1980s.
Following Dolce & Gabbana’s decision to go fur free, IDA is now urging more designers and luxury retailers to do the same.
Substantiating on the same, Fleur Dawes, Communications Director, IDA said “We urge all designers to follow suit by ditching all fabrics made from animal fur and skin.”
Founded in 1985, Dolce & Gabbana is majorly known for clothes, footwear, handbags, cosmetics and more. It has its headquarters in Milan.
