Italy-based fashion designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua is targeting to boost his kidswear brand; N°21. The fashion line will now be manufactured and retailed under Brave Kid, the childrenswear subsidiary of Italian fashion group, OTB.
Notably, Brave Kid already retails kidswear brands such as Diesel, Dsquared2, John Galliano, Marni and Trussardi. N°21 was launched in 2015, previously licensed under Grant, which is currently facing difficulties to stay afloat and has filed a preventive composition procedure last month.
In a press statement issued, two partners of the firm elucidated that the new agreement signed between Brave Kid and the apparel label is valid for five years, and is renewable for another five, starting from the Autumn/Winter 2019-20 season. It authorises to Brave Kid the development, production and exclusive global distribution of the brand’s apparel and accessories range for young boys and girls, belonging to the age bracket that starts from 4 till 14.
Furthermore, the new license will see the brand retailing its merchandise in its flagship stores for the first time, as previously it used to conduct sales through a number of multi-brand retailers.
N° 21 is also working on its overseas expansion. Recently, it launched its largest flagship store in the world, in Seoul. In addition to five directly owned mono-brand stores, the label is retailed through fifteen shop-in-shops in department stores and more than 600 multibrand clients. Besides the ready-to-wear variants, it also offers an internally developed accessories range.
