Issey Miyake is beginning a new chapter in Paris. The premium Japanese ready-to-wear business recently closed its main store on 11 Rue Royale, which it had established in 2008 after nearly two decades at Place des Vosges and will open at 26 Rue François 1er. This strategic move strengthens its position in the coveted 8th arrondissement of the French city, notably within the Golden Triangle.
Issey Miyake set out to create a boutique experience that is both unique and inventive. Tokujin Yoshioka, the visionary designer, created an interior with a contemporary, minimalist, and radiant look. The area, which spans two levels, is distinguished by two walls covered with brilliant anodised orange metal, providing a stunning contrast against the otherwise spotless white decor. This burst of warm and brilliant color provides a sense of futuristic vitality to the atmosphere.
The brand’s new Parisian headquarters will be unveiled when Fashion Week begins. The upcoming boutique will feature the entire Miyake universe, such as the main Issey Miyake line, the gathered clothing collections Pleats Please and Homme Plissé, the experimental A-POC Able line, the boundary-pushing 132 5. collection that fuses geometry and innovation, and, of course, the iconic range of geometric Bao Bao bags. In addition, the shop will sell a carefully chosen collection of perfumes, watches, and eyewear.
