Indore, known for its 1000+ small and medium-sized garment manufacturers, is gearing up for a significant boost in business as the festival season approaches. Ahead of Rakshabandhan, the city’s readymade garment sector is experiencing a surge in orders from the outstation market across India.
Local manufacturers are now optimistic about an impressive double-digit growth in their businesses, attributing it to favourable weather conditions, which are expected to result in a better crop this year.
President of the Readymade Textile Dealers Association, Ashish Nigam, commented, “Orders from our traditional buyers in southern India have picked up, and retailers are placing more substantial orders. Additionally, we are witnessing a surge in inquiries from Maharashtra and Gujarat, with dispatches to these regions set to commence in approximately a week. This season, we anticipate a substantial increase in business compared to the previous year, with growth projected to be in the double digits.”
The Readymade Textile Dealers Association anticipates that business during this season will register a significant rise, with expectations of a 15-20 per cent increase over the previous season due to a surge in high-volume orders.
Indore is known as the pivot trading center for clothing and readymade supplies across the country.
Major markets in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh contribute to over 60 per cent of the market share in this thriving industry. Manufacturers are expecting fresh orders and dispatch to Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan to gain momentum from September onward.
